FAQ
What is counselling?
Counselling is an opportunity to talk to a professional in a safe and confidential space about thoughts, feelings and emotions. Counselling helps individuals to gain a better understanding of themselves and to find solutions to problems, helping to promote overall wellbeing.
How long do counselling sessions last?
Sessions at Karen Murray Counselling Services go for sixty minutes.
What does the counselling session involve?
Our first session will be about getting to know one another and to begin building rapport. We will chat about how counselling is confidential and non judgemental. Together we will begin to explore you or your child's story and what led you to seek out counselling. And finally before the end of the session we will set some counselling goals. Future sessions will be about hearing your or your child's story in more detail, exploring feelings, thoughts and concerns, and together finding solutions.
Do you accept NDIS clients?
Currently we are able to take NDIS clients who are self managed or plan managed.
How often should we schedule in an appointment?
The frequency of counselling sessions depends on your needs, however we find weekly/fortnightly appointments are most effective. These can then be adjusted as you progress. Please speak to your therapist to find out what is right for you
Can I do online sessions from the comfort of my home?
Yes, sessions can be conducted from the comfort of your home, on your computer via the Zoho platform.
